Police arrest man after crash on freeway, South Australia

A man has been arrested following a crash on the South Eastern Freeway at Leawood Gardens this evening.

About 8.15pm on Monday 25 October, emergency services responded to multiple calls after a car travelling on the downtrack of the South Eastern Freeway crashed into the embankment. Callers reported that once out of the car, the driver became aggressive and was behaving erratically.

Police attended the scene and swiftly took the man into custody. The 28-year-old Reynella man has been taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital by ambulance for treatment for injuries sustained in the crash.

The blue Mitsubishi sedan was towed from the scene.

Anyone who witnessed the crash who was not able to stop at the scene and provide their details to police can do so via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Police would also like to speak to anyone who may have dashcam vision of the incident.
