Police arrest man after drugs seized in vehicle stop - Robbery and Serious Crime Squad

Robbery and Serious Crime Squad detectives have arrested a man during a vehicle stop, following a police operation in Sydney's inner-west today.

As part of investigations under Strike Force Cain, officers stopped a silver Camry travelling westbound on the Anzac Bridge, Pyrmont, about 3.15pm today (Wednesday 8 December 2021).

During a search of the vehicle, detectives located and seized illicit drugs.

The sole occupant of the Camry, a 28-year-old man, was arrested and taken to Newtown Police Station, where he is assisting with inquiries.

At the same time, strike force detectives – assisted by Raptor Squad and South West Region Enforcement Squad (RES) – executed a search warrant at a home in Casula.

During the search, officers seized a number of items, including a firearm, illicit drugs and cash.

The items will undergo forensic examination.

Detectives from the State Crime Command's Robbery and Serious Crime Squad established Strike Force Cain, following the alleged kidnapping of a man on Sydney's Lower North Shore last April.
