Police arrest man after Hamlyn Heights stabbing

A man has been arrested following a stabbing in Hamlyn Heights last night.

It is understood two men were involved in a physical altercation in a Lantana Avenue property just before 8pm on Tuesday, 23 January.

A 65-year-old man sustained stab wounds and was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

A 60-year-old Hamlyn Heights man was arrested at the scene.

He did not sustain any injuries.

It is alleged officers uncovered 12 cannabis plants inside the property during the arrest.

The Hamlyn Heights man is currently in custody and assisting police with their enquiries.

It is expected he will appear at the Geelong Magistrates' Court today.

It's believed both men are known to each other.
