Police arrest man after hit-run in Geelong West

Geelong Highway Patrol have charged a man in Geelong as part of an ongoing investigation.

The 35-year-old Geelong man was arrested in Mercer Street about 3.00pm, Thursday 21 September.

Police will allege that a 21-year-old Charlemont man was cycling on Parkington Street when he was hit by a white Kia Sportage about 6.40am, Wednesday 20 September.

The cyclist was taken to hospital with critical injuries and is currently in a stable condition.

The Geelong man has been charged with dangerous driving cause serious injury. He is remanded to be appear before the Geelong Magistrates court today.
