Police arrest man after Noble Park hit-run

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have arrested a 64-year-old man following an alleged hit-run in Noble Park on Saturday night.

The Dandenong North man handed himself into investigators this afternoon.

He is now in custody, assisting investigators with their enquiries.

The arrest relate to an incident where a 34-year-old Springvale woman being struck by a vehicle while crossing Heatherton Road, near Avon Street, about 7pm on 20 May.

It's alleged the driver of the vehicle failed to stop at the scene.

The pedestrian remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries.
