Police arrest man after Sunshine ramming

A 31-year-old man has been arrested after a police car was rammed in Sunshine yesterday afternoon (9 July).

Police attempted to intercept a white ute on Derby Road about 5.30pm when the driver failed to pull over.

It is alleged the ute rammed the police car and then drove at an officer.

The officer discharged his firearm, the vehicle stopped and the driver was pulled from the car and arrested.

The Keilor Downs man has been charged with numerous offences including intentionally exposing emergency worker on duty to risk by driving, reckless conduct endanger life, drive manner dangerous and drive while disqualified.

He will be presented before the Melbourne Magistrates' Court later today.

Nobody was hurt during the incident.
