A man is in police custody after a woman's body was found at a home near Nowra this morning.
About 11.20am (Friday 11 June 2021), emergency services were called to Comerong Island Road, Numbaa, just east of Nowra, following reports a woman's body had been found.
Officers attached to South Coast Police District, along with NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived at the scene a short time later, where the woman was pronounced deceased.
A crime scene was established and investigations commenced into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The woman was found by a family member after she couldn't be contacted.
A 37-year-old man was arrested nearby a short time later.
He was taken to Nowra Police Station, where he is assisting officers with their inquiries.
