Police arrest man after years of domestic family abuse - Greystanes

A man has been arrested over serious domestic offences allegedly committed between January 2013 and August 2019.

Between that period, it is alleged a 61-year-old man from Greystanes had acted in an extremely violent and controlling manner towards all members of his family.

An investigation commenced, and it was established the 61-year-old man was in illegal possession of an M-14 rifle and handgun. Police located and confiscated these items.

On Wednesday 28 August 2019, the 61-year-old attended St Marys Police Station where he was arrested for breaching an apprehended domestic violence order and breaching his bail conditions.

He was conveyed to Penrith Police Station.

Whilst in custody, the man reported health concerns which lead to him being conveyed to Nepean Hospital for medical assessment where he remains under police guard.

The man has been charged with a number of offences relating to domestic violence.

It is expected that he will appear before a court later today (29 August 2019).
