Police arrest man for Forest Hill carjacking

Eastern Division Divisional Crime Team detectives have charged a man following an alleged carjacking in Forest Hill earlier this month.

Investigators executed a search warrant at a Wantirna residence on 21 December about 5.45pm.

Detectives arrested the man and seized items including mobile phones, assorted jewellery, a portable camera, registration plates, numerous power and hand tools.

Officers also recovered a stolen vehicle and car keys.

The 23-year-old man was charged with aggravated carjacking, unlicensed driving, theft of motor vehicle, theft, possessing a controlled weapon, negligently dealing with proceeds of crime and multiple counts of committing an indictable offence whilst on bail.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 23 December.

Its alleged the victim was threatened inside his vehicle before it was stolen on 16 December about 11.25am.
