A man has been arrested for murder following an incident at Davenport overnight,
At about 11.20pm last night (Thursday 16 November), police were called to an address in the Davenport Community outside of Port Augusta, after reports of a woman being unconscious at the home.
Police and paramedics attended and attempted to revive the woman. Sadly the 45-year-old woman died at the scene.
A 53-year-old man from the address was arrested by detectives and is expected to be charged with murder. He will be refused bail and appear in Port Augusta Magistrates Court today.
The woman and the man were known to each other.
