Police arrest man in Campbellfield after stabbing

Police have arrested a man in Campbellfield following a stabbing this afternoon.

Investigators have been told two men were involved in a verbal altercation in Scammel Street on Monday, 2 September about 1.30pm.

It is understood the incident escalated into a physical altercation and one of the men was stabbed.

The injured man was transported to hospital with life threatening injuries.

The other man, aged in his 50s, was arrested at the scene and is assisting Hume Crime Investigation Unit with their enquiries.

It appears the parties are known to each other.
