Police arrest man over hydroponic crop, Broadbeach

Police have charged a man with producing dangerous drugs after an alleged hydroponic cannabis crop was located at a Broadbeach unit yesterday morning.

Around 7am, officers executed a search warrant on an address at Britannia Avenue where they allegedly located 23 mature cannabis plants, lights, transformers, pots and testing devices.

Subsequently, further searches were conducted at other Broadbeach units belonging to the man where it will be alleged 190 grams of cannabis was located.

A 49-year-old Broadbeach man was arrested and charged with two counts of possessing dangerous drugs and one count each of producing dangerous drugs, possessing things used in connection with a drug offence and possessing drug utensils.

He is scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court on November 2.
