Police arrest pair for drug importation - Strike Force Oldaker

A man and a woman have been charged following an investigation into the importation of prohibited substances on the Central Coast.

Strike Force Oldaker was established by Brisbane Water Drug Unit to investigate the importation and supply of steroids in Erina and surrounding areas.

As a result of inquiries, several parcels were intercepted by Australian Border Force that allegedly contained various steroids.

About 12.40pm (Thursday 30 January 2020), a man and a woman attended Erina Post Office before returning to their car with a number of parcels.

A short time later, officers attached to Brisbane Water Police District stopped the vehicle and arrested a 28-year-old man who was taken to Gosford Police Station.

A subsequent search warrant was executed at a unit on Ghersi Avenue, Wamberal, where police seized various steroids and MDMA.

Following further inquiries, a 24-year-old woman was arrested and also taken to Gosford Police Station.

The man was charged with five counts of import prohibited imports, two counts possess/attempt to, anabolic or androgenic steroidal agent and two counts of supply prohibited drug indictable quantity.

The woman was charged with four counts of import prohibited imports and two counts of supply prohibited drug indictable quantity.

The pair were refused bail to appear at Gosford Local Court tomorrow (Friday 31 January 2020).
