Police arrest teen after assault on North Terrace, South Australia

A teenager was arrested after an assault in the city this afternoon.

Police were called to North Terrace, Adelaide, about 2.45pm on Tuesday 22 October after a young woman was assaulted near the corner of Gawler Place.

The 20-year-old victim was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with serious facial injuries.

The suspect left with a group of people prior to police arrival, but was allegedly tracked down via the CCTV camera network.

After a brief foot chase, the 15-year-old girl from Northfield was arrested and charged with assault cause harm. She was refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court tomorrow.
