Police arrest teen over bottle shop theft and assault, South Australia

A teenager was arrested overnight following an investigation into an assault and theft at a southern suburbs bottle shop last week. Police would still like to speak to any witnesses.

About 11.45pm on Saturday 22 May, police and paramedics responded to reports of an assault at the bottle shop of a Morphett Vale hotel on Main South Road, Morphett Vale.

It will be alleged an employee was hit in the head with a bottle following the theft of alcohol from the bottle shop. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment for a large cut to the head.

Following investigations, police attended a Huntfield Heights address in the early hours of this morning, Friday 28 May, and arrested a teenage suspect.

The 17-year-old Huntfield Heights boy was charged with aggravated recklessly cause harm, theft and breach of bail. He was refused police bail and appeared in the Christies Beach Youth Court today.
