Police arrest teens after replica gun seen during supermarket stealing - Surry Hills

Three teenagers have been arrested after a replica gun was sighted during a stealing at a supermarket in Surry Hills this afternoon.

It is alleged about 1.30pm (Wednesday 31 July 2019), a loss prevention officer at the shop on Foveaux Street, Surry Hills, sighted three teenage boys stealing a can of drink.

When confronted, the juveniles fled, and the officer gave chase.

He reported seeing a firearm in the pocket of one of the boys, which was thrown into an alcove.

The man flagged down passing police, who arrested the boys at gunpoint.

The firearm was located and determined to be a toy gun.

The boys have been taken to Surry Hills Police Station as inquiries continue.
