Police arrest teens after trying to rob Evanston Park servo, South Australia

Police have arrested two teenagers following an attempt robbery at Evanston Park overnight.

Just after 1.30am on Tuesday 3 September, patrols were called to a service station on Main North Road after the teenage boys threatened the console operator with spanners before trying to force their way into the console area. The persistent pair also tried to jump the counter and force open the cash drawer but eventually gave up and left once they became aware the console operator was calling police.

Both teens were located nearby with one being found by patrols on Colman Parade while PD Jax found the accomplice a short time later hiding behind a car. Police also recovered a number of items on the ground just outside the main entrance of the service station which were allegedly stolen by the teenagers.

A 13-year-old from Modbury North and a 14-year-old from Enfield were both charged with attempted aggravated robbery, property damage, carry offensive weapon and theft.

Both have been refused bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Youth Court later today.

Thankfully the console operator was not physically injured.
