A man has been shot by police following an incident at Woodhill last night, 26 June.
Officers were initially called to Caswell Road around 9pm in relation to a welfare check, when they were allegedly confronted by a 41-year-old Woodhill man armed with a firearm.
The man allegedly advanced on police, and he was subsequently shot by officers.
Officers immediately provided first aid at the scene before the man, aged in his 40s, was airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
No police officers or members of the public were injured during the incident.
A crime scene was declared, and there is no ongoing risk to public safety.
The matter is being investigated by the Ethical Standards Command, with oversight from the Crime and Corruption Commission.
