Police arrest teens in Northcote

The Dog Squad and local police have arrested two teens in Northcote this morning following a series of dangerous driving incidents across the northern suburbs of Melbourne.

The pair, a male and female aged 16 and 15, were arrested after officers cordoned an area in the vicinity of Creek Parade near Merri Creek.

The Air Wing assisted officers and the Dog Squad on the ground as they tracked the pair found in bushland near the creek about 3.20am.

Police were alerted to the pair following reports a number of people were acting suspiciously near cars in Cunningham Street.

As police responded towards the area the Dog Squad spotted the duo in a stolen white Volkswagen Tiguan.

The car was of interest to police following several incidents throughout the evening in Reservoir, Richmond, Northcote and Collingwood where the driver of the vehicle was seen driving in a dangerous and erratic manner.

The pair are currently assisting police with their enquiries.
