Police arrest three after evade police incidents

Three men have been arrested following a Hume Crime Investigation Unit investigation.

Around 12.30pm today, detectives from Hume Crime Investigation Unit spotted an allegedly stolen Mercedes Benz sedan that had allegedly been seen at a number of aggravated burglaries and evade police incidents over recent days.

The vehicle was followed covertly for a number of hours until a safe arrest on the occupants could be effected.

The car was driven erratically by the driver, crossing onto the wrong side of the road and involved in a number of near misses with other vehicles throughout the CBD and northern suburbs.

The vehicle was eventually dumped at a shopping centre on Elizabeth Street, Coburg North around 5pm.

The occupants fled from the stolen vehicle and made their way to a nearby ute which was being driven by an accomplice.

Police swooped and arrested three men in their 20s from Wallan, Pascoe Vale And Lalor.

They are currently assisting detectives with their enquires.
