Police arrest three males after aggravated burglary in Morwell

Latrobe Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested three males after an aggravated burglary in Morwell this week.

Investigators allege three males broke into a property on Olive Drive on Tuesday, 19 October about 8.30pm.

Once inside, it's alleged the males were involved in a scuffle with the 84-year-old female resident who was hit in the head with a blunt object before the males fled with the woman's handbag.

The woman was transported to hospital in a stable condition.

Investigators executed search warrants yesterday and arrested three males.

An 18-year-old Morwell man was charged with aggravated burglary, theft, handle stolen goods and other offences. He was also charged with burglary for separate unrelated offences.

He was remanded to appear at the Latrobe Valley Magistrates' Court today.

A 13-year-old Morwell boy was charged with aggravated burglary, intentionally cause injury, assault police and other offences.

He was bailed to appear at a Children's' Court at a later date.

A 25-year-old Morwell man was released pending further enquiries.
