Police have arrested two people following a series of aggravated burglaries overnight where two vehicles were stolen.
Officers were called to reports three male offenders, allegedly armed with a machete, entered a property on Currajong Avenue in Camberwell about 1.55am.
One of the offenders demanded keys from the male occupant, who then chased the trio out of the house.
Police were told they fled on foot, then later returned to damage the front door and smash the window.
Nothing was stolen and the occupants were not physically injured.
A short time later, three male offenders attempted to enter a house on Smythe Street in Mont Albert about 2.05am.
They were unsuccessful after disturbing the male occupant who yelled out to the trio, they fled in a waiting vehicle.
The three males then jumped a fence on Weybridge Street in Surrey Hills and entered a property about 2.15am.
They stole two sets of car keys, then stole a Mercedes B Class and a Mazda CX3.
One of the stolen cars was later tracked to a property on Tamarisk Road in Narre Warren.
Police executed a warrant at the address and arrested two males.
A 25-year-old Narre Warren man and a 17-year-old boy from the Casey area were taken into custody where they will be interviewed.
The investigation is ongoing to locate the third male.
