Police arrest two after explosive device located in Pascoe Vale

Moreland Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested two people and uncovered suspected explosive materials after a home-made explosive device was discovered at an address in Pascoe Vale on Sunday.

Police were called to an address on Heath Street, Pascoe Vale about 5.20pm yesterday and subsequently located explosive materials at the property.

Officers arrested a 45-year-old woman and 43-year-old man, before executing a search warrant with assistance from the Bomb Response Unit.

The pair have this morning been charged with make explosive substance - endanger life, possess explosive substance endanger life, make explosive substance without excuse, possess explosive substance without excuse and reckless conduct endanger life.

Both will appear before Melbourne Magistrates' Court this morning.

The arrests come after a home-made explosive device was discovered on the front doorstep of a Derby Street property about 10am on Sunday, 11 July.

The Bomb Response Unit diffused the device, and no one was injured during the incident.

Police are treating it as a targeted incident and are not looking for anyone else in relation to the matter.
