Police arrest two after search finds illicit drugs and weapons

Police have arrested two Huntly men after a lengthy investigation into alleged intentional high-risk driving in the Epsom and surrounding area last month.

Officers from multiple police units in the Bendigo division executed a search warrant at a Buckleys Lane, Huntly address on Wednesday 3 November.

It is alleged that the search of the property resulted in the seizure of homemade firearm parts, along with ammunition, over 200g of methylamphetamine, 3D printers, prohibited weapons, motor vehicles and a large amount of cash believed to be the proceeds of crime.

Two men were arrested and have now been interviewed by police.

A 34-year-old has been charged with trafficking a commercial quantity of methylamphetamine, possess proceeds of crime, dangerous driving whilst being pursued by police, possess prohibited weapon, possess controlled weapon and traffic offences.

He was remanded to appear at the Bendigo Magistrates' Court today.

A 31-year-old has been released and is expected to be charged on summons with dangerous driving, possessing firearm silencers, improper storage of cartridge ammunition and possess methylamphetamine.
