Police Arrest Two After Stolen Vehicles Recovered

Two teens have been arrested after police tracked a stolen Volkswagen Tiguan through the Creswick area this morning.

Police responded to reports of the Volkswagen towing a Holden Commodore through the Creswick State Forest about 8.30am.

Checks conducted on the vehicles revealed that they were both allegedly stolen.

Units attended the area and located the Holden unattended on Blake Snake Track, before sighting the Volkswagen travelling on the Midland Highway shortly after.

Multiple calls came through from members of the public with sightings of the Volkswagen which led police to Carngham Road in Ballarat, where Air Wing subsequently began to track the vehicle.

The Volkswagen was tracked to a property on Queen Street in Sebastopol where officers converged on the area and arrested two teenagers.

A search of the Volkswagen allegedly revealed multiple machetes.

The 14-year-old boy from the Ballarat area and 17-year-old girl from the Melton area are in custody where they will be interviewed.
