Police arrest two after vehicle stop - Kariong

A man and woman have been arrested following a vehicle stop on the Central Coast today, as part of an ongoing investigation into a shooting in Sydney's east.

Emergency services were called to a unit on Marine Parade about 9.15pm on Sunday (4 July 2021), after reports a man had been shot.

Officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command and NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a 37-year-old man, before he was taken to St Vincent's Hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established, which was examined by specialist forensic police, and detectives commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following inquiries, officers from the Tactical Operations Unit arrested two people during a vehicle stop on the Central Coast Highway, Kariong, just before 1.30pm today (Thursday 8 July 2021).

A man and woman – aged 27 and 28 – were taken to Gosford Police Station.

Inquiries are continuing.
