Police arrest two men after pursuit through Northern Melbourne

Police have arrested two men following a pursuit through Melbourne's northern suburbs this morning.

An allegedly stolen black Ford Ranger was spotted on Pascoe Vale Road in Oak Park about 9.50am.

With assistance from the Air Wing, police followed the vehicle through a number of suburbs before it was allegedly seen driving on the wrong side of Sydney Road in Fawkner.

The car continued along the Western Ring Road towards Melbourne.

Stop sticks were deployed and the car continued, before eventually coming to a stop on Geelong Road.

It is alleged the male driver got out of the black Ford Ranger, then into a white Jeep, which travelled towards Altona North.

Police deployed stop sticks and the Jeep stopped in Borrack Square where the two occupants fled the scene on foot and were arrested a short time later.

A 24-year-old Glenroy man and a 34-year-old Altona North man are assisting police with their enquiries.
