Police arrest two men after short pursuit and firearms located in Horsham

Western Region Crime Squad detectives are investigating following a short pursuit in Horsham involving an allegedly stolen vehicle yesterday.

Police observed a vehicle driving erratically on Baillie Street in Horsham about 2.45pm on Wednesday, 29 September.

The Air Wing followed the car onto McKenzie Creek Road where road units re-engaged with the vehicle before it hit a fence and became bogged.

Two men got out of the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.

A 28-year-old Horsham man was arrested nearby.

The vehicle was allegedly stolen, as well as two other vehicles, during a burglary at McKenzie Creek Road in Haven in the early hours of Wednesday, 28 September.

Both the other vehicles remain outstanding.

Police subsequently executed two search warrants on Hickson Street and Arnott Street in Horsham this morning where a number of firearms and ammunition were seized.

A 32-year-old Horsham man was arrested at a property on Hickson Street

Both men are assisting police with their enquiries.
