Police arrest two over stolen car at Modbury, South Australia

Two people were arrested at Modbury this morning after a stolen car was tracked to the area.

At 10.40am on Monday 19 October, police were called to Crozier Avenue, Modbury by a company reporting that one of their vehicles had been stolen and in-car GPS was showing it was at that location.

Patrols located the stolen white 2018 Volkswagen Golf sedan at a premises and saw two men in the rear yard.

One suspect, a 41-year-old Modbury man, was immediately apprehended by police.

The second suspect ran off, jumping over fences and running across roofs.

Police Dog Rusty managed to track him to the rear yard of a property in Faehse Street, Modbury where he was allegedly hiding in the boot of a car parked in the garage.

The 28-year-old Christie Downs man was arrested. Both men are expected to face charges of unlawful possession in relation to the stolen car and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court tomorrow.

The white 2018 Volkswagen Golf sedan was stolen from Gilles Plains last night. It has been seized by police and towed from the scene for forensic examination.
