Police arrest woman after hit-run in Armadale

Detectives from Major Collision Investigation Unit have arrested a woman following a collision where a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Armadale this morning.

It is believed a woman was boarding a tram when she was hit by a white Tesla travelling west on Wattletree Road, approaching Kooyong Road, about 6.30am.

The 26-year-old Armadale woman was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle initially left the scene without stopping.

The driver surrendered to detectives a short time later, and the vehicle has also since been recovered.

The 23-year-old Mount Waverly woman is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are still being investigated.
