Police Assaulted During Disturbance At Underdale

Three people have been arrested after police were allegedly assaulted during a disturbance at Underdale overnight.

At 11pm on Wednesday 31 December, Western District police responded to reports of an assault on Hardys Road. On arrival, police found a large group of people fighting in the street and when they intervened, it will be alleged that two police officers were assaulted. Additional patrols attended to assist the officers who sustained minor physical injuries.

A 54-year-old man from Underdale, a 28-year-old woman from Cheltenham and a 17-year-old girl from Underdale were arrested at the scene. The man and girl were charged with assaulting a prescribed emergency worker and hindering police. They were bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court in February.

The Cheltenham woman was issued with an adult caution and released from custody.
