Police Attend Maroochydore Fatal Traffic Crash

Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash at Maroochydore on Sunday evening, 7 June.

Emergency services were called to a shopping centre carpark on Ocean Street shortly after 7.30pm following reports a vehicle had entered the water.

Initial investigations indicate a white Mitsubishi Triton travelled into the water, where it became submerged.

Police and emergency services attended and rescued the driver, a 73-year-old Bli Bli man, from the vehicle. However, he was later declared deceased at the scene.

Investigations into the circumstances leading up to the incident are ongoing.
