NSW Police, Western Australia Police and Australian Federal Police have charged 18 people and seized a combined 268kg of illicit drugs following a multi-jurisdictional investigation into a national drug syndicate.
Earlier this year, detectives attached to State Crime Command's Drug and Firearms Squad in collaboration with Western Australia Police and Australian Federal Police commenced Strike Force Bloomfield.
Strike Force Bloomfield was established to investigate the large-scale supply of illicit drugs across Australia by an organised syndicate operating in multiple states.
Police will allege in court the syndicate were importing drugs via sea, concealing the drugs in consignments of shoes and plastics.
The drugs and money were then being exchanged across borders in the post and via drug mules on planes.
During the resolution phase of the joint investigation, between May and October 2025, detectives executed 30 search warrants across New South Wales and Western Australia and 18 people total were arrested and charged.
Approximately 150kg of pseudoephedrine, 95kg methylamphetamine, 21kg of ketamine, 2kg of cocaine, 14 firearms, nearly $2.4 million in cash, and chemical lab equipment was seized.
The drugs have a combined estimated potential street value of $60 million.
Arrests of note in NSW include,
- About 10.45pm on Thursday 16 October 2025, detectives arrested a 25-year-old man in Casula. He was taken to Liverpool Police Station, where he was charged with possess controlled precursor, supply prohibited drug greater than or equal to large commercial quantity, participate criminal group contribute criminal activity, and breach of bail. He was refused bail to appear in Liverpool Local Court the next day (Friday 17 October 2025).
- About 11pm on Thursday 16 October 2025, detectives arrested a 34-year-old man in Randwick. He was taken to Surry Hills Police Station, where he was charged with attempt to import commercial quantity border-controlled precursor. He was refused bail to appear in Bail Division Local Court 7 the next day (Friday 17 October 2025).
- About 1.20pm on Friday 17 October 2025, detectives arrested a 40-year-old man in Blacktown. He was taken to Blacktown Police Station, where he was charged with attempt to possess commercial quantity unlawful import: border-controlled drug. He was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court on Sunday 19 October 2025.
- About 6.45am on Tuesday 28 October 2025, detectives arrested a 24-year-old in Liverpool. He was taken to Liverpool Police Station, where he was charged with three counts of supply prohibited drug greater than or equal large commercial quantity, three counts of supply prohibited drug greater than indictable and less than commercial quantity, two counts of supply prohibited drug greater than or equal large commercial quantity, two counts of supply prohibited drug greater than or equal to commercial quantity, two counts of deal with property proceeds of crime greater than or equal $100000, knowingly/recklessly direct criminal group assist crime and possess prohibited drug. He was refused bail and appeared in Liverpool Local Court the next day (Wednesday 29 October 2025)
- About 6.50am on Tuesday 28 October 2025, detectives arrested two 24-year-old men in Edmonson Park. They were taken to Liverpool Police Station, where they were charged with supply prohibited drug greater than or equal to large commercial quantity, deal with property proceeds of crime greater than or equal to $100000, two counts of deal with property proceeds of crime less than $100000 and less than $5000 and knowingly/recklessly direct criminal group assist crime. Both were refused bail and appeared in Liverpool Local Court the next day (Wednesday 29 October 2025).
- About 7.55am on Wednesday 29 October 2025, detectives arrested a 24-year-old man in Lurnea. He was taken to Liverpool Police Station, where he was charged with possess prohibited drug and fail to comply digital evidence access order direction. He was refused bail and appeared in Liverpool Local Court on Thursday 30 October 2025.
In Western Australia, officers from the Transnational Serious & Organised Crime Division charged 11 men. Arrests of note include,
- On Tuesday 24 June 2025, as part of Operation BOMBARD, detectives arrested two men following the alleged seizure of approximately 20kg of methylamphetamine, 1.4kg of cocaine, a firearm, and more than $330,000 in cash. Both men remain in custody and are scheduled to next appear in court in December.
- Between Monday 6 and Wednesday 8 October 2025, as part of Operation HOLLYWOOD, detectives arrested three men after allegedly seizing approximately 10kg of methylamphetamine, 11 firearms, and more than $220,000 in cash. All three men have been remanded in custody and are scheduled to next appear in court in November.
- On Friday 24 October 2025, as part of Operation HOLLYWOOD, two men were arrested in Perth following the alleged seizure of more than $670,000 in cash and 15kg of methylamphetamine. Both men remain in custody and are scheduled to next appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on 17 November 2025.
