Police charge driver after man carried 3km on bull bar at Homebush

A man has been charged with driving offences after another man was carried 3km while clinging to a utility's bull bar yesterday.

Police will allege in court that a Toyota Camry and a Toyota Landcruiser utility were involved in a minor collision on Centenary Drive, Homebush, just before midday (Wednesday 25 December 2019).

The driver of the Camry, a 37-year-old man, approached the utility and grabbed hold of the front bull bar before it drove off.

The man was carried an estimated 3km clinging to the bull bar before jumping off when the utility slowed down in Margaret Street, Greenacre.

The Landcruiser drove off and the incident was reported to officers from Auburn Police Area Command who initiated inquiries.

Following investigations, a 45-year-old man was arrested at a home at Liberty Grove about 3am today (Thursday 26 December 2019).

He was taken to Auburn Police Station and charged with cause bodily harm by misconduct, in charge of motor vehicle, negligent driving, drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous, and not give particulars to other driver.

The Liberty Grove man has been granted strict conditional bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on Thursday 9 January 2020.

Inquiries are continuing.
