Police Charge Driver After Serious Crash - Yatte Yattah

A driver has been charged following a serious crash on the state's south coast last year.

About 2pm on Sunday 8 December 2024, emergency services were called to the Princes Highway, Yatte Yattah, following reports of a crash.

Officers attached to South Coast Police District attended and found a Hyundai hatchback and a Toyota sedan had crashed.

The hatchback driver, a 25-year-old man, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The passenger – a 25-year-old man – was airlifted to St George Hospital in a critical condition.

The driver and sole occupant of the sedan – a 21-year-old man – was taken to Wollongong Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A crime scene was established and investigations commenced by the Crash Investigation Unit.

Following extensive inquiries, today (Friday 9 May 2025), officers issued the 25-year-old Hyundai hatchback driver a Court Attendance Notice, charged with negligent driving (occasions grievous bodily harm) and cause bodily harm by misconduct, in charge of motor vehicle.

He is set to appear before Milton Local Court on Thursday 10 July 2025.
