A driver has been charged following a serious crash in the state's south earlier this year.
About 9.10am on Tuesday 10 February 2026, emergency services were called to Barham Road, near Lower Thule road, Thule, approximately 30km east of Barham, to find a b-double and a car had collided and flipped onto their sides.
The truck went down an embankment and caught alight. The driver - a 61-year-old man - was trapped, before being freed by members of the public.
NSW Ambulance treated him for serious burns and a head injury before being conveyed to a Melbourne Hospital.
The 56-year-old male driver of the utility was trapped. He was freed and treated for multiple serious injuries by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to Echuca Hospital.
Fire and Rescue NSW responded and extinguished the truck fire.
Officers attached to Murray River Police District responded and commenced an investigation, with assistance from the Crash Investigation Unit.
Following inquiries, a 56-year-old man was issued with a court attendance notice for negligent driving (occasions grievous bodily harm) and not keep left of dividing line-not class B/C vehicle.
He will appear in Deniliquin Local Court on Wednesday 16 December 2026.
