Police charge four men after firearm and ammunition seized - Rooty Hill

Four men have been charged after a firearm and ammunition were seized during a vehicle stop in Sydney's west yesterday.

About 9.15pm (Friday 29 January 2021), a food delivery driver attended Labrador Street, Rooty Hill, where he was approached and threatened by a man, allegedly armed with a firearm.

The armed man walked away and police were notified. The delivery driver was not physically injured.

Officers from Mount Druitt Police Area Command attended and following inquiries, stopped a Honda Accord on Labrador Street a short time later. During a search of the vehicle, officers seized a loaded shotgun and ammunition.

The occupants - four men, aged 19, 21, 21 and 23 - were arrested and taken to Mt Druitt Police Station where they were all charged with possess unauthorised prohibited firearm and not keep firearm safely - prohibited firearm.

The 19-year-old man was also charged with carry firearm manner likely injure person/property.

The men were granted strict conditional bail and are due to appear in Mt Druitt Local Court on Wednesday 24 February 2021.
