Police charge four men after firearms and drugs seized

Wayward Taskforce detectives have charged four men after firearms and drugs were located during Firearm Prohibition Order (FPO) compliance searches in Melbourne's west yesterday.

Detectives executed an FPO compliance search in Morris Street, Sunshine on Thursday, 25 November.

They allegedly located a semi-automatic handgun and multiple rounds of ammunition.

A 34-year-old Sunshine man was arrested at the scene. He was charged with possess firearm, contravene firearm prohibition order and eleven other firearm related offences.

He was bailed to appear at the Sunshine Magistrates' Court on 28 April.

Detectives also executed FPO compliance searches in Forrest Road and Rockbank Road, Ardeer yesterday.

They allegedly located a hydroponic set-up, drugs and weapons, including a taser, samurai sword and machete.

Three men were arrested at the scene. They were each charged with cultivate a narcotic plant.

Two Ardeer men aged 58 and 49 will appear at the Sunshine Magistrates' Court today.

A 39-year-old Ardeer man was bailed to appear at the Sunshine Magistrates' Court on 2 May.
