Police charge four over drugs, Surfers Paradise

Police have charged four people, after allegedly locating a significant quantity of drugs and cash at a Surfers Paradise apartment yesterday afternoon.

Around 3pm, Gold Coast detectives executed a search warrant on Ferny Avenue, where they allegedly located around 35 grams of methylamphetamine (ICE), valued in excess of $14 000, 1.5 litres of GHB (Fantasy), valued in excess of $7,000, cannabis, approximately $5,000 in cash and other items of interest.

Police arrested four people at the scene.

A 19-year-old Miami woman has been charged with three counts of possessing dangerous drugs and one count of possessing drug utensils. She is scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court on March 25.

A 43-year-old Mermaid Waters man has been charged with one count each of possessing dangerous drugs and failing to properly dispose of a needle. He is scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court on March 26.

An 18-year-old Parkwood woman was charged with one count each of possessing dangerous drugs and possessing drug utensils. She is scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court later this month.

An 18-year-old Surfers Paradise woman was charged with one count each of possessing dangerous drugs, possessing anything used in the commission of a crime and possessing drug utensils.

Detective Inspector Brendan Smith of the Gold Coast's Criminal Investigation Branch said; "This kind of action continues to demonstrate our commitment to disrupt those who supply dangerous drugs."

Investigations continue.
