Police charge four over hotel armed robbery - Warwick Farm

Four people have been charged over their alleged roles in the planning of an armed robbery at Warwick Farm last year.

About 5.15am on Thursday 5 July 2018, two men – armed with a knife and an electronic stun device – entered a hotel on the Hume Highway, Warwick Farm, and threatened two employees.

The men stole cash and fled in a vehicle, which was waiting on Liverpool Street.

No one was injured during the incident.

Detectives from the Robbery and Serious Crime Squad established Strike Force Amor to investigate the armed robbery.

Following extensive inquiries, strike force detectives charged two women – aged 21 and 49 – and a 26-year-old man at Liverpool Police Station yesterday (Wednesday 4 September 2019).

The man was charged with robbery while armed with dangerous weapon, knowingly direct criminal group assist crime, and knowingly deal with proceeds of crime intent to conceal (x3).

He has been refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court today (Thursday 5 September 2019), where he was formally refused bail to re-appear at the same court on Monday 28 October 2019.

The younger woman was charged with knowingly deal with proceeds of crime intent to conceal (x8), and accessory after the fact robbery armed/in company.

The older woman was charged with recklessly deal with proceeds of crime (x3).

They have both been granted conditional bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday 25 September 2019.

A 23-year-old man has also been charged with robbery while armed with dangerous weapon, deal with proceeds of crime, and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity. He is next due to appear at Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday 30 October 2019.

Investigations under Strike Force Amor are continuing, and police are still seeking two men in relation to the incident.

Meanwhile, detectives are appealing for public assistance as they continue to investigate a robbery at the same hotel that occurred earlier this year.

About 4am on Friday 22 March 2019, two men entered the licensed premises, before threatening and punching a male employee.

The men stole cash and fled on foot.

Police would like to speak to anyone with information that may assist them with their inquiries.
