Police charge four with drug supply at Wagga Wagga

Four men have been charged following a strike force investigation into drug supply in the state's south west.

In April 2020, Strike Force Detop was established by investigators from the Southern Region Enforcement Squad to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs in the Wagga Wagga area.

Following an extensive investigation, strike force officers executed a search warrant at a home in Turvey Park about 6.30am today (Tuesday 12 May 2020).

Officers allegedly located and seized 'ice', counterfeit cash, cannabis, electronic devices, a trailbike and prescription medication.

Two men – aged 21 and 24 – were arrested at the home and taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station.

Following further inquiries, a third man – aged 26 – was arrested at a home in Narrandera and taken to Narrandera Police Station, and a 39-year-old man was arrested at Kooringal and taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station.

The 21-year-old man was charged with 18 counts of supply prohibited drug, supply prohibited drug on an ongoing basis, participate criminal group contribute to criminal activity and recklessly deal with proceeds of crime.

The 24-year-old man was charged with six counts of supply prohibited drug and participate criminal group contribute to criminal activity.

The 39-year-old man was charged with supply prohibited drug.

All three were refused bail and are due to appear in Wagga Wagga Local Court today (Tuesday 12 May 2020).

The 26-year-old man was charged with seven counts of supply prohibited drug, supply prohibited drug on an ongoing basis and participate criminal group contribute to criminal activity.

He was refused bail and is due to appear in Junee Local Court via AVL later today (Tuesday 12 May 2020).

Police will allege in court the men operated as a criminal group and were supplying prohibited drugs throughout the Wagga Wagga area.

Inquiries under Strike Force Detop are continuing.
