Police charge man after 2019 North Geelong collision

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a collision in North Geelong in 2019 in which two people were killed.

The 52-year-old man has been charged with two counts of dangerous driving causing death and one count of careless driving.

The charges follow a four-car collision on Thompson Road on Thursday 4 July, 2019 about 11.20am.

The female passenger of one of the vehicles, a 58-year-old Norlane woman, was transported to hospital where she later died.

The male driver of the same vehicle, a 64-year-old Norlane West man, was also taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and died on 3 August 2019.

The Belmont man appeared at the Geelong Magistrates' Court today where he was granted bail to reappear at the Geelong Magistrates' Court for a committal mention on 4 September 2020.
