Police Charge Man After Assault At Junee

A man has been charged following a serious assault in the state's south.

Just after 9:30pm on Wednesday 4 March 2026, emergency services were called to George Street, Junee, following reports of an assault.

On arrival, officers attached to Riverina Police District located a 30-year-old man who had been assaulted.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital and flown to Canberra Hospital in a critical condition.

Around 3.30pm yesterday ( Thursday 5 March 2026), a search warrant was executed at a home in George Street, Junee.

A 26-year-old man was arrested and taken to Junee Police Station.

He was charged with reckless grievous bodily harm.

He was refused bail to appear in Bail Division Court 5 today ( Friday 6 March 2026).
