About 1.20am today (Friday 20 January 2023), emergency services were called to Bunnerong Road, Matraville, following reports of an assault.

The woman sustained minor facial injuries and did not require hospitalisation. The 49-year-old man sustained multiple head injuries and was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to Prince of Wales Hospital in a stable condition.
