Police charge man after Broadmeadows sexual assault

Detectives from the Sexual Crimes Squad have charged a man following an alleged sexual assault in Broadmeadows earlier this week.

The 20-year-old man, who is of no fixed place of address, was arrested shortly after 3pm in Meadow Heights.

He was interviewed by police last night and subsequently charged with rape (x5), false imprisonment, intentionally cause injury, make threat to kill and commit indictable offence whilst on bail.

The man will face Melbourne Magistrates' Court this morning.

The charges follow an incident in Broadmeadows shortly after midnight on Monday, 18 February where a woman was allegedly sexually and seriously physically assaulted inside a property on Railway Crescent.
