Police Charge Man After Carlton Hit-run

Melbourne Highway Patrol have charged a man after a serious collision in Carlton last month.

It is understood a 2012 brown Honda Civic sedan struck a woman riding an e-bike on Canning Street, near Alexandra Parade about 10.20am.

The rider, a 35-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police will allege the driver of the Honda fled the scene in the vehicle prior to police arrival.

Investigators later located the unoccupied Honda in Fitzroy North.

A 45-year-old Greenvale man has since been charged with fail to give name and address to injured, fail to report to police if person injured, fail to obey red traffic light and fail to transfer vehicle.

He was bailed to appear before Melbourne Magistrate's Court on 6 February, 2026.
