Police charge man after Docklands fatal stabbing

Homicide Squad detectives have charged a 19-year-old man overnight as part of their investigation into a fatal stabbing in Docklands earlier this month.

A Shepparton man has been charged with violent disorder and affray.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates' Court today.

The charges follow an incident on Sunday, 13 March in Docklands where 23-year-old Western Australian man Alier Riak was fatally stabbed and his 26-year-old brother Kuol was also seriously injured.

Five people have been charged in relation to the matter with a range of offences including murder, violent disorder, affray and commit indictable offence while on bail.

The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
