Police charge man after fail to stop crash at Parramatta

A driver has been charged after another man was left with serious leg injuries following a fail to stop crash in Sydney's west last night.

About 9.20pm (Sunday 23 May 2021), a 39-year-old man had parked his car near the intersection of Marion and Wigram Streets, Harris Park when he was allegedly hit by a Mazda that failed to stop.

The man was treated by paramedics for serious leg fractures and taken to Westmead Hospital where he remains in a stable condition

Officers from Parramatta Police Area Command attended, assisted by specialist officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit.

Following inquiries, a 26-year-old man was arrested after attending Parramatta Police Station about 12.15pm today (Monday 24 May 2021).

He was charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm - drive manner dangerous, negligent driving (occasions grievous bodily harm), and Fail to stop and assist after vehicle impact causing grievous bodily harm.

The Rosehill man was granted conditional bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday 14 July 2021.
