Police charge man after fatal collision in Tanjil South

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a fatal collision in Tanjil South on 2 May.

It's alleged a gold Nissan ute collided with a blue Hyundai Accent on Purvis Road about 4.30pm, before the driver of the ute fled the scene.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 59-year-old Moe women, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Sadly, the women later died in hospital on 19 May.

A 30-year-old Morwell man, was arrested and later charged with:

• Dangerous Driving Causing Death

• Fail to stop at the scene of an accident

• Fail to render assistance after an accident

• Commit an indictable offence whilst on bail

The Traralgon man has been remanded to appear at Latrobe Valley Magistrates' Court on 1 June.
