Police Charge Man After Fatal Shooting In Glenroy

Homicide Squad detectives have charged a man as part of their investigation into a fatal shooting in Glenroy last month.

With the assistance of the Special Operations Group, a 40-year-old Newport man was arrested in Wandong.

Detectives also arrested an 18-year-old Campbellfield man in Taylors Lakes.

The pair were interviewed by police and the 40-year-old man was subsequently charged with murder and prohibited person use firearm.

The 18-year-old man was released pending further enquiries.

The 40-year-old Newport man will appear at the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 20 April.

Today's arrests follow an incident in Glenroy on 29 March where a man was fatally shot.

Emergency services were called after a 33-year-old Broadmeadows man was located injured on Justin Avenue shortly after 4.30am.

Medical assistance was rendered, however he died at the scene.

Police will allege the parties involved were known to each other.
